Pre-Prep Department
Three years: Lower-Prep, Middle-Prep and Upper-Prep
Girls and boys aged 4-7
Day school with extended day options
Situated in modern, purpose-built accommodation with a dedicated
play area, our youngest pupils enjoy the very best start to their time at Hethersett Old Hall School.
With our small class sizes ensuring individual attention, lesson time and play time combine to take the children on an exciting voyage of educational discovery.
"Our class sizes mean we really get to know each boy and girl"
Mrs Jones, Pre-Prep teacher
Girls and boys in Pre-Prep quickly develop self-confidence, respect for others and the social skills that are so important for the future.
The Curriculum
The key skills of reading, writing and numeracy are developed in a stimulating atmosphere that builds on children's natural inquisitiveness and enthusiasm for learning. Breadth of opportunity is equally important, so they begin to study a modern foreign language and make full use of the school facilities, such as the indoor heated swimming pool.

A Day In Pre-Prep
Before-school care is available 8.00am - 8.30am daily in term time.
The teaching day lasts from 8.45am - 3.00pm.
Our after-school club is open between 3.00pm - 6.00pm daily in term time.
Care between 3.00pm and 4.00pm is included in the school fees. After 4.00pm, there is an hourly charge for the after-school club, which includes a cooked tea at 4.30pm. View photos of our after-school club in our Photo Gallery.
Upper-Prep and Middle-Prep boys and girls also get the opportunity to take part in extra-curricular activities such as mini-tennis, tag-rugby, football, cricket, drama and dance during lunchtimes and after school.
Admissions
We are delighted to announce that we will start to accept girls and boys who turn 4 between 1st September and 31st December 2010 to join our Prep-Prep department in January 2011. Previously we were only able to accept pupils in the September following their fourth birthday.
With this change in our admissions policy and in order to maintain our small class sizes, we strongly advise early applications.
