An enjoyable evening was had by everyone who came to our Quiz and Meal Night last week. 

Teams of eight had their knowledge seriously tested by our very own HOHS quiz master Mr Osborne. His vast array of challenging and unusual questions certainly taxed the old grey matter but with plenty of laughs provided as well. I'm sure we have all come away with a favourite piece of Osborne trivia; for example, we now know that a cockroach has 13 heart chambers!

Michael Reeves and his team provided a delicious meal of lasagne and apple crumble pudding for us all to enjoy whilst the sixth formers did a fine job assisting with the scoring and collating of rounds.

In the end Anna Groom's team 'PASS' won the champagne with an impressive score of 672 points, whilst one of the teams (we won't embarrass them!) earned the recycled shopping bags! Nichola Pascoe created a stunning Christmas hamper as part of the raffle which raised over £200. It was won by Mrs Hall whilst the first prize of £150 Boden vouchers was won by Mrs Jones (Pre-Prep).

Thank you to all parents and friends of the school who supported the evening and special thanks to committee member Clare Harvey who suggested the quiz and coordinated the whole event and Mr Osborne for giving up his time to research and write the quiz rounds and for being the quizmaster. Judging from people's responses this may well become an annual event. There has even been talk of auctioning off members of staff to teams next time!!
